Abitech Africa Consults (U) Ltd, in partnership with NARO and Makerere University, is implementing the Accelerating Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in the Fisheries Value Chain (A-CCAP) initiative.
This project transforms fish processing by-products—such as skin, scales, and bones—into high-value nutraceutical ingredients, including collagen peptides and functional bioactive compounds. By valorizing waste streams that would otherwise contribute to environmental pollution, A-CCAP reduces greenhouse gas emissions, promotes circular bioeconomy practices, and enhances resource efficiency within Uganda’s fisheries sector.
